Consistently OR Constantly?

Consistently does not mean constantly

I wanted to make sure that I address a frequent question that I get with clients. Clients have this misconception that you have to post every day. I am not sure where that mind frame came from, but it is time to change that.

Posting every day is cool and all if you are posting quality content. Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Are you posting content that your followers would like to see?

  2. Are you on brand?

  3. Do you create content that others can share and learn from?

  4. What makes you stand apart from others in your same niche?

  5. Do you engage with your followers?

  6. Do you engage with people who are not your followers?

These are all questions that I ask my clients when they talk to them on initial consultations. I want to make sure that my clients are not just posting content just because they think it will get more people to follow. Really it does nothing but annoys followers. However, I do want them to post content that will get their followers to engage. You want to turn followers into subscribers if you have a mailing list. Your goal should be to get conversions.

Make sure that you are looking at your analytics. Facebook has an amazing feature on their platform that allows you to see both the analytics for Instagram and Facebook combined and separately. Not to mention you can also schedule posts from Facebook if you have a business page. It is also for FREE. So I would push more people to use this feature over others especially if you are just getting into it. If you feel like it benefits you to use other scheduling apps I say go for it, but there is nothing wrong with starting with something free. I mean who is going to know anyway besides you?

Below are my own FB & IG stats.

So pay attention to what you posted on that day to create such a spike. So on Sept 13th, it looks like I had a spike in activity. Pay attention to what you post and post more content like it. Social media is more than just posting content. It is paying attention to a number of things.

Monday's blog post will be about how to pay attention to your analytics and get your marketing together.
